We were married on March 25, 2006 at College Church of the Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho. Pastor Mark Thornton was the officiant. We wrote our own vows, took plenty of pictures and had a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. The reception was held at the Sandstone Event Center in Nampa, where we danced the night away until after midnight. We finally decided to call it a night and headed to the Anniversary Inn in Boise where we spent our wedding night in the Presidential Suite. The entire day was perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing. Check out our photo gallery for lots of pictures from our wonderful day.
Instead of leaving for our honeymoon immediately we waited nearly a week in order to have some downtime and take care of details like moving, unwrapping gifts and packing for the trip. We spent our honeymoon on a Royal Caribbean cruise through the southern Caribbean islands, a week in paradise. I had been on a cruise once before, but it was Jade's first time, and we had an incredible experience. Let me tell you, that is the way to travel! They cater to your every need, you can go on amazing excursions, and you get to eat in a five-star restaurant every night.
The cruise started by flying to San Juan, Puerto Rico and spending the night before boarding the Serenade of the Seas. Then it was off to St. Thomas. While there we did the Ultimate Island Experience which consisted of a driving tour, 2 hours of relaxing at Magen's Bay (one of the top ten beaches in the world), a tour of Blackbeard's Castle, and a little time for shopping. St. Maarten was our next stop where we enjoyed another successful day of shopping. Day three was spent in Antigua where we enjoyed an open air market. We went on the Island's Delights excursion in St. Lucia. We drove through fishing villages and banana plantations, visited the Piton mountains, went to the world's only "drive in volcano," and enjoyed a walk through an incredible botanical garden. The last island we visited, Barbados, was probably one of our favorites. We spent the day sailing on a catamaran and snorkeling with sea turtles. What an adventure.
The entire trip was incredible. It was a wonderfully relaxing time and we can't wait to go again. Hopefully for our 10 year anniversary we will get to visit the Caribbean again. To see photos from the Caribbean check out our honeymoon photo gallery.
