We had our first ultrasound yesterday (1/27/09). 

Baby was laying on their back and kept kicking their left foot straight up in the air. Baby also waved as you can see in this picture.  (Baby's head is on the left looking up with their left arm up in the air.)

Colleen kept saying what a sweet baby we have. 

We could see the heart beating and we were able to hear it as well.  It was beating at 162 bpm and sounded really fast, but was in the normal range for a baby. 

Hard to believe that at only 1.5 inches long baby already has little fingers and toes.  The foot was very clearly identifiable.  

Seeing our little one made it more real that there actually is a little life in there.

Our next ultrasound will be at 22 weeks. Can't wait to see our baby again!
