Jade and I finally found out the gender of our baby today, and there's NO denying it... We're having a son!

Because we really wanted to know who's growing in her womb, Jade and I prayed before the appointment that we would know for sure what the sex of our baby was. God answered our prayers and "junior" was very cooperative. Not shy, either! Within seconds of putting the ultrasound wand to Jade's belly the midwife — Coleen — said, "Oh I know what you're having!"

Then, a few seconds later, we saw for ourselves what were very clearly "boy parts." Jeremiah (the name we chose a while ago if we had a son) flashed us repeatedly and Coleen said, "I'd bet the farm on this one... You don't even need to keep the receipts. You're having a boy."

It was an awesome experience to watch our son stretch and kick and roll around inside Jade's tummy. What an incredible miracle life is! God is amazing, and I can't WAIT to meet my baby boy in person and hold him in my arms. We were able to clearly see all four chambers of his healthy little heart beating, each of his tiny little toes, one of his ears, and all the fingers on one hand. He even sucked his thumb while we were watching. So CUTE!!

He was very active, and Coleen commented, "I hope you have some running shoes to keep up with him."

My mother-in-law Jeanne got to come with us, and that was such a blessing. When Jade was born the ultrasound didn't exist, so this was a first for her, too. After the appointment we all went shopping at Babies R Us and registered for a bunch of nifty baby stuff, then had dinner at Carino's Italian grill. 

It was a great day, and I'm glad we could record it in this medium that we can share with our friends and family.
